Wahlburgers Closes Final Standalone Restaurant in Boston Market

Wahlburgers, the fast-casual dining chain co-founded by actor Mark Wahlberg and his family, has officially closed its final standalone restaurant location in Boston after 11 years of operation. The closure marks the end of the brand's standalone retail presence within the city proper.

The shuttering of the venue highlights an ongoing reduction of the chain's footprint in its home market of eastern Massachusetts. While city-center storefronts have closed, the brand retains a limited presence in the region through specialized concessions, including non-traditional locations at sites such as Logan International Airport.

Despite the contraction of its original Boston store network, the company continues to generate significant business overall. Industry estimates place the enterprise's total annual revenue at approximately $120 million, supported by dozens of franchised and corporate locations operating across North America and select international markets.

Launched in 2011 in nearby Hingham, Massachusetts, the brand scaled rapidly over the following decade, fueled by executive expansion plans and aggressive franchising. The company subsequently diversified into supermarket partnerships and licensed retail products to complement its physical restaurant locations.

Corporate representatives for the chain have not indicated any immediate plans to launch new standalone brick-and-mortar storefronts in downtown Boston. Operations across other domestic regional hubs remain active as the business continues to evaluate its overall commercial strategy.
