Video instructions detailing the unboxing, initial hardware configuration, and accessories for Valve's upcoming Steam Frame virtual-reality headset briefly surfaced following a routine client software update.

The instructional materials were made accessible through an update issued to the ARM architecture version of the Steam desktop client. Valve subsequently removed the files from its servers shortly after users noticed the inclusion of the unreleased video content.

The footage provides a detailed demonstration of the physical setup process for the hardware and showcases several peripheral components designed for the device. The Steam Frame is engineered to operate as a standalone virtual-reality unit capable of running applications locally or streaming titles directly from a connected host computer.

First announced late last year, the device represents Valve's latest hardware effort targeting the virtual-reality market. Technical specifications released by the company indicate the headset incorporates LCD panels delivering a 2160 by 2160 resolution per eye and a field of view reaching up to 110 degrees.
