Target Unveils Exclusive Worker Apparel Line Designed by Isaac Mizrahi

The 16-piece Collection 186 offers Target store employees optional dress-code-compliant workwear starting Oct. 5.

Target announced Tuesday it is launching an employee-exclusive apparel line designed by fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi, following recent updates to the retail chain's store dress code guidelines.

The 16-piece line, titled Collection 186 after the retailer's signature Pantone 186 shade of red, includes performance fabric tops, track jackets, cardigans, blazers, and vests. Slated for release on Oct. 5, items start at $10 before employee discounts, with select limited-edition pieces sold without replenishment.

The apparel launch follows dress code adjustments implemented earlier this summer under chief executive officer Michael Fiddelke as part of broader efforts to elevate the store shopping experience. Under the rules, store team members are required to wear solid blue or beige pants alongside tops primarily featuring Target's trademark red hue.

Target leadership noted that purchasing items from Collection 186 is entirely optional, and staff may purchase compliant clothing from outside retailers or wear basic red vests provided at store locations. Company executives stated the initiative aims to balance professional aesthetics with performance and comfort.

Mizrahi, who rejoined Target earlier this year as creative director at large, previously designed collections for the company in the 2000s. Retail officials stated the new assortment is intended to offer versatile options for team members while supporting updated store presentation standards.
