Sportswear Startup Omorpho Reports 743 Percent Growth After Founder Exits Nike

Former Nike innovation chief Stefan Olander expanded his micro-weighted apparel brand Omorpho after applying lessons from high-profile tech partnerships.

Former Nike executive Stefan Olander has built independent sportswear startup Omorpho into a fast-growing industry competitor, recording a 743 percent revenue increase over a three-year period. Olander launched the brand after spending more than 20 years leading digital initiatives and product design at Nike.

During his long tenure at the athletic footwear and apparel giant, Olander served as Vice President of Global Digital Innovation. In this capacity, he directed major technology integration efforts, including high-profile joint development projects alongside Apple co-founder Steve Jobs during the launch of connected fitness products.

Applying design philosophies acquired throughout his executive career, Olander founded Omorpho in 2021 to redefine functional activewear. The company specializes in micro-weighted training gear engineered to distribute light weights evenly across the body, offering resistance training that maintains full freedom of movement.

Traditional resistance equipment relies on heavy vest attachments or ankle weights that can strain joints and disrupt natural athletic mechanics. Omorpho's product line instead integrates small, strategically placed weights directly into high-performance fabrics, targeting both elite professional athletes and casual consumer markets.

The startup's three-year growth milestone comes amidst expanding consumer demand for specialized training apparel and performance equipment. Omorpho continues to scale its operations through direct-to-consumer digital channels and select retail distribution partnerships across North America.
