Robinhood has rolled out AI-powered trading agents to its 29 million customers, enabling automated market research and order execution through natural language prompts.
Robinhood Markets Inc. has launched artificial intelligence-powered trading agents for its approximately 29 million retail customers, enabling automated investment research and order execution using plain-language instructions. The rollout integrates large language models developed by OpenAI and Anthropic directly into the retail brokerage platform.
Under the new offering, users can select from multiple AI models to execute single stock purchases or construct complex, automated investment routines. The platform includes a feature called Loops, which allows agents to continuously scan financial markets, analyze data, and execute trades overnight or at specific times when pre-determined market conditions are satisfied.
To address risk management concerns, Robinhood has established built-in guardrails for agentic trading. Customers can isolate automated trading within dedicated sub-accounts, set strict dollar limits on individual transactions, and mandate manual trade confirmations before any order is submitted to the market.
The launch also gives retail traders temporary access to specialized market data feeds, including cryptocurrency analytics and options flow data, to support model decision-making. Robinhood Chief Executive Officer Vlad Tenev stated the goal is to supply retail investors with sophisticated trading tools historically restricted to institutional hedge funds and quantitative firms.
Robinhood plans to provide access to basic AI model tiers without charge through the end of the year, while charging standard token-based processing rates for higher-tier models across the platform.
