Outdoor retailer REI and navigation platform AllTrails have launched a multi-year partnership offering shared perks and supporting conservation.
Digital trail navigation platform AllTrails and specialty outdoor retailer REI Co-op have entered into a long-term strategic partnership designed to expand outdoor access, fund conservation projects, and offer combined membership incentives nationwide.
The commercial collaboration bridges AllTrails, which currently reports a user base of more than 100 million global members, with REI’s established network of approximately 26 million co-op members. Under the multi-year agreement, the two organizations will cross-promote digital tools and provide mutual discounts across their respective platforms.
Initial joint initiatives include direct financial support for trail maintenance, environmental stewardship projects, and public land preservation efforts across the United States. In addition, participants in the REI co-op program will gain access to specialized pricing for AllTrails Plus, the software company's premium subscription layer providing offline map downloads and safety features.
The transaction represents a notable alignment between a major physical outdoor equipment retailer and a leading consumer outdoor technology platform. Executives involved in the deal noted that the combined effort aims to make outdoor recreation more accessible to beginners while enhancing technical resources for experienced hikers, runners, and cyclists.
Rollout of the integrated promotional discounts and community conservation programs is set to begin immediately, with additional co-branded digital tools and regional volunteer events scheduled for deployment over the next year.
