Nintendo to Release Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Remake Nov. 5
Nintendo announced a modernized remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Switch 2, featuring enhanced controls, voice acting, and themed hardware.

TOKYO — Nintendo has officially scheduled a modernized remake of its video game title The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for release on Nov. 5, positioning the title as a major software offering for the upcoming Switch 2 platform.
The announcement comes nearly 28 years after the original game debuted on the Nintendo 64 system in late 1998. The updated release replaces the original low-polygon graphics with a detailed visual style tailored specifically to take advantage of the capabilities of Nintendo's next-generation hardware.
In addition to the visual overhaul, the remake introduces updated gameplay mechanics and contemporary user-interface features. Standard controls now include a manual jump button and a dedicated sprinting action, while the game incorporates full voice acting across characters and an objective system called "Threads of Time" to help players track their narrative progress.
Development details indicate that despite the mechanical updates, the title remains structurally faithful to the foundational elements of the 1998 release. The original world layout, narrative sequences, and environmental structures have been retained under the updated graphical presentation.
To accompany the game's commercial launch, Nintendo confirmed it will release specialized hardware accessories. Retail offerings will include a custom-designed Switch 2 console unit and a matching Switch 2 Pro Controller, both decorated with Triforce iconography from the franchise.
