REDMOND, Wash. — Microsoft officially unveiled the Xbox Nano on Tuesday, introducing a compact wireless gaming controller priced at $49.99 aimed at mobile gamers and players with smaller hands. The new device represents the smallest controller produced for the Xbox platform to date.
Measuring just over five inches in length, the Xbox Nano is shorter than most modern smartphones and is designed to fit directly into pockets. Despite its scaled-down form factor, the device maintains a full hardware configuration, featuring all standard buttons, thumbsticks, and directional controls found on standard Xbox gamepads.
The compact controller supports both proprietary Xbox Wireless connections and standard Bluetooth protocols. This dual-compatibility feature enables seamless connectivity across Xbox consoles, Windows personal computers, mobile phones, and tablet devices.
Microsoft designed the hardware to improve comfort for younger players while providing an easily transportable option for gaming on the go. Additionally, the Xbox Nano features an integrated rechargeable battery, replacing the traditional removable battery system used in standard models.
The entry of the Xbox Nano broadens Microsoft’s gaming accessory line as the company continues to emphasize cross-platform play and hardware flexibility across console, PC, and mobile ecosystems. The new controller will be available through major electronics retailers and Microsoft's official online storefront.
