Kia expanded its lineup of battery-powered utility vehicles with the official debut of the PV7 electric van in Germany.

Kia unveiled its new PV7 all-electric van at the IAA Transportation trade show in Germany, expanding the South Korean automaker's lineup of zero-emission utility and commercial vehicles. The vehicle marks the latest addition to the company's dedicated modular electric fleet strategy.

The PV7 is designed to offer flexible interior space, targeting both commercial logistics providers and passenger transport services. The model is built on a purpose-built electric platform, allowing for customizable body configurations, scalable battery options, and low loading heights to enhance operational efficiency.

The introduction comes amid a broader resurgence in market demand for multi-purpose utility vehicles. In the United States, segment sales increased 21 percent in 2025, reflecting growing buyer interest in high-capacity vehicles as alternatives to standard crossovers and sport utility vehicles.

Kia has steadily built its position in the segment, having sold its Carnival passenger model in North America since 2021. With the reveal of the PV7, the company is positioning itself among a small group of global manufacturers producing fully electric mid- and large-sized vans.

Additional technical specifications, production timetables, and regional market availability for the PV7 are slated to be released ahead of its official commercial rollout.
