Honor Launches Magic 9 Pro Max Flagship Smartphone in China

SHENZHEN, China — Consumer technology manufacturer Honor officially launched its new flagship Magic 9 smartphone lineup in China, led by the premium Magic 9 Pro Max featuring substantial design updates, an upgraded camera architecture, and a significantly expanded battery capacity.

The Magic 9 Pro Max represents the brand's first primary flagship device released since establishing a technical partnership with German cinematography equipment company Arri. The physical design of the rear camera island directly reflects this collaboration, incorporating an aesthetic inspired by the three-lens turret system originally developed for vintage cinema cameras, accented by a knurled outer texture surrounding the primary lens.

On the imaging front, the co-developed camera system introduces professional video capabilities to the device. The smartphone supports video capture in the Arri LogC3 color space and comes pre-loaded with 14 customized Arri Look lookup tables (LUTs), while providing software compatibility with Arri's wider library of professional color profiles.

In addition to the revamped camera assembly and battery capacity enhancements, the Magic 9 Pro Max introduces updated structural design choices. The device is being introduced in multiple color options at launch, including moss green, black, and silver finishes.

The announcement marks Honor's latest effort to solidify its position in the premium smartphone segment against regional and global competitors. Availability is currently limited to the Chinese domestic market, with details regarding international release schedules and pricing structures expected to follow in future announcements.
