Clementon Park & Splash World has been placed up for foreclosure auction weeks after its abrupt post-Labor Day closure.
Clementon Park & Splash World, a historic amusement and water park located in southern New Jersey, has been put up for auction following its sudden closure earlier this season. The property will enter foreclosure proceedings with a minimum opening bid set at $1.5 million.
The auction follows an announcement by the park’s ownership group earlier this month stating the venue would close permanently after the Labor Day holiday. The decision brought an unexpected end to operations at the site, which encompasses dozens of rides, water attractions, and surrounding real estate.
Founded in 1907, the park operated for over a century as one of the oldest continuously running amusement parks in the United States. Located in Camden County, the venue expanded over the decades from a local lake resort into a full-scale entertainment complex featuring a coaster, splash park, and family attractions.
The upcoming public sale includes the entire 52-acre property, along with all operational equipment, amusement rides, and intellectual property rights. Bidders will be required to submit qualifying deposits prior to the scheduled auction date.
Representatives for the ownership group cited financial pressures and operational challenges as primary factors leading to the closure. Local officials have expressed hope that a new buyer might acquire the venue and restore operations for future seasons.
