Halmar Completes Yankee Stadium Station Work Under $965M Transit Contract

Construction at the remaining 12 subway stations in the system overhaul is scheduled for completion in early 2027.

Infrastructure contractor Halmar International has completed comprehensive accessibility and structural upgrades at the Yankee Stadium subway station, marking a major milestone in a $965 million regional transit modernization initiative.

The newly completed work at the high-volume Bronx facility includes the installation of modern elevators, renewed staircases, expanded mezzanine spaces, and upgraded platform infrastructure. The improvements are designed to bring the station into full compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act standards while enhancing safety and passenger circulation during major events.

The Yankee Stadium project represents a key completion under the multi-station design-build contract aimed at retrofitting aging urban rail infrastructure. Contractors are actively executing mechanical, electrical, and structural upgrades across the system to support increased passenger capacity and long-term facility resilience.

Construction at the project's remaining 12 transit stations is scheduled to be completed in early 2027. The outstanding locations will undergo similar structural overhauls, including new elevator installations, architectural refurbishments, and modernized communication systems.

Project managers stated that construction crews are utilizing phased schedules to minimize disruptions to daily train services and surrounding traffic. Work on the remaining stations will continue concurrently over the next three years to meet the final project deadline.
