Media publisher Future has laid off the remaining editorial staff at Android Central, though the company plans to maintain operations at the tech site.
Digital publisher Future has eliminated all remaining staff positions at Android Central, a publication dedicated to covering the Android ecosystem. Despite the sweeping workforce reduction, the parent company confirmed that the website will remain operational and continue publishing content.
The job cuts were made public after several team members disclosed their departures. Affected staff members include managing editor Derrek Lee, alongside editorial staff Shruti Shekar, Harish Jonnalagadda, and Nicholas Sutrich. Former senior editor Namerah Saud Fatmi also confirmed the conclusion of her tenure at the outlet.
Former editorial personnel reported that the layoffs impacted the site's entire remaining core staff. Employees stated they were not informed during the termination process about how future content would be produced or whether the publication faced an eventual shutdown.
Future has not detailed how it intends to sustain editorial operations or content production at Android Central following the departure of its full-time writing staff. The publication operates as a dedicated hub for news, reviews, and updates related to mobile technology and software.
The move represents the latest round of restructuring within the digital media industry, as parent companies increasingly cut editorial headcount and adjust operational strategies amid shifting online publishing economics.
