Fitness International Restructures Gym Network and Expands Club Studio Brand

Fitness International is closing select LA Fitness facilities while repurposing others into high-end Club Studio locations as part of a network realignment.

Fitness International LLC is shuttering select LA Fitness locations across the United States as the company realigns its commercial real estate footprint. The closures affect multiple regional markets as the operator transitions away from underperforming traditional health clubs ahead of planned 2026 operations.

Under the strategic shift, a portion of the decommissioned facilities will undergo structural overhauls and be converted into Club Studio, the parent company's premium boutique fitness brand. These converted properties will feature expanded class offerings, specialized training zones, and upgraded amenities designed to compete in the high-end physical fitness market.

Capital investment for individual location conversions is expected to reach multimillion-dollar sums per facility. The remodeled locations will feature distinct studio spaces dedicated to specialized fitness disciplines, including hot yoga, reformative pilates, group cycling, and high-intensity interval training modules.

Significant pricing structure adjustments will accompany the facility transitions. Standard monthly memberships at the newly launched Club Studio locations are scheduled to start at $149 per month, representing a higher price point than traditional LA Fitness tier rates.

Members impacted by the upcoming closures are receiving formal notifications regarding contract transfers, cancellation policies, and access privileges at nearby remaining clubs. Construction timelines for the converted spaces are set to proceed in phases throughout the coming calendar year.
