General contractor DPR Construction has commenced work on a $230 million medical office facility for Kaiser Permanente in Colorado using prefabricated components.
DPR Construction has officially broken ground on a $230 million medical office project for healthcare provider Kaiser Permanente in Colorado. The facility represents a substantial investment in regional healthcare infrastructure and is designed to accommodate growing patient demand and operational administrative needs.
To streamline the build, the general contractor will heavily utilize prefabricated assemblies and modular construction techniques. Critical structural components, interior wall panels, and pre-assembled mechanical, electrical, and plumbing racks will be manufactured in off-site controlled environments before being transported to the jobsite for final installation.
Project team members indicated that adopting modular methodologies will reduce overall jobsite complexity and compress the baseline project schedule. Shifting high-density assembly tasks off-site is expected to improve quality control, limit on-site material waste, and decrease trade congestion during peak construction phases.
The new development will house dedicated outpatient care suites, clinical consultation areas, and administrative space for healthcare operations. Site preparations, including excavation and preliminary utility installation, are currently underway as crews transition into main structural work over the coming months.
The Colorado facility adds to DPR Construction's growing portfolio of specialized healthcare and commercial projects utilizing off-site manufacturing techniques across the United States. Project stakeholders have not disclosed a firm calendar date for final occupancy.
