Beehiiv Implements Subscription Price Increases Across Creator Tiers

Creator platform Beehiiv has restructured its paid subscription plans and raised monthly rates for publishers to fund platform development.

Newsletter platform Beehiiv has announced price increases across its primary subscription tiers, drawing pushback from independent publishers and digital creators who utilize the service to manage their email audiences.

Under the newly introduced pricing model, the company rebranded its midrange Scale plan as Lite and increased monthly rates by a minimum of $10 per month, with final pricing calculated based on total subscriber counts. Creators hosting up to 10,000 subscribers under the newly named Lite tier will now pay $139 per month, up from the previous rate of $109.

Beehiiv also restructured its top-tier offering, renaming the former Max plan to Pro. The updated Pro plan now carries a rate of $239 per month for accounts serving up to 10,000 subscribers, alongside higher pricing brackets for accounts with larger subscriber bases.

In a statement detailing the changes, Beehiiv co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Tyler Denk indicated the revenue adjustment is necessary to fund ongoing product development. Denk stated the price increases would allow the platform to continue investing directly in its core technology and user infrastructure.

The price adjustments mark a significant change for the growing digital publishing platform, which has gained market share in recent years as an alternative for email creators. However, several users have expressed concern over the rate hikes, citing higher operational expenses for independent media businesses.
