Apple Inc. opened preorders for the HomeView, a $299 standalone smart display designed to serve as a central control hub for connected household technology. The device marks a major push by the technology company into the dedicated home hardware market and is scheduled to officially launch on Friday, Nov. 13.
The HomeView features a seven-inch display with a rounded rectangular form factor mounted to an integrated speaker base. Customers can select from multiple color finishes and choose configuration options, including the speaker base attachment, when placing their orders.
Engineered as a multi-purpose household unit, the device integrates directly with broader home ecosystems to manage compatible smart equipment. In addition to hardware automation, the display supports FaceTime video calling, interactive system widgets, and step-by-step digital recipe displays for kitchen utility.
Users can also utilize the tabletop display to access media streaming features, including full audio playback controls and visual track navigation. The touch-enabled interface allows real-time monitoring of calendar schedules, weather forecasts, and connected device status alerts.
The product release positions the company to expand its hardware portfolio in the tabletop automation and smart speaker categories. Orders are currently being accepted ahead of the mid-November retail availability date.
