AI Search Queries Exclude Majority of Top Real Estate Producers

A new study reveals that over 90 percent of high-performing real estate professionals fail to appear in artificial intelligence recommendations.

A large majority of top-performing real estate agents fail to appear in artificial intelligence search results when prospective clients query digital platforms for local recommendations, according to newly published industry research.

Data shows that 91.5 percent of top-producing real estate professionals are entirely absent from recommendations generated by major AI search tools. The findings highlight a growing disconnect between actual sales volume and visibility within automated search algorithms.

Among the small fraction of agents who do surface in AI search results, a significant portion appear primarily because they authored self-published content or online rankings naming themselves as top market performers. Algorithms frequently pull from these unstructured web sources rather than verified transaction data or MLS records.

The disparity poses operational challenges for both consumers relying on AI tools for broker selection and high-volume agents who depend on digital visibility to maintain market share. Optimization strategies designed for traditional search engines do not consistently translate to generative search platforms.

Industry researchers noted that AI recommendation systems tend to prioritize indexed online narratives, self-promotional press releases, and third-party blog posts over backend performance metrics, creating a wide gap between real-world productivity and algorithmic exposure.
