Adobe has launched a beta update for Photoshop featuring a consolidated AI toolbar and direct image markup capabilities.

Adobe Inc. has unveiled a software update for Photoshop that introduces a dedicated workspace designed specifically for artificial intelligence capabilities. The new optional layout, released in beta as the AI Assisted Editor, consolidates the application's various generative features into a single, unified interface.

The updated interface centralizes several machine-learning tools into one toolbar, allowing users to access functions without navigating through multiple menus. Integrated capabilities include prompt-based image editing, automated background removal, and an AI-powered image extender that expands existing canvas boundaries.

The update also introduces interactive refinement tools, including a markup feature that allows editors to indicate desired changes by drawing directly on an image. Users can draw arrows to specify layout adjustments, highlight regions to change colors, or brush in rough shapes to signal where the system should generate new visual elements, reducing the reliance on written text prompts.
